All field tile is purchased by the full box. Field tile is the term for the plain tile used on floors and walls. The square footage in a box of tile varies by manufacturer. The average range is a couple square feet up to about 30 square feet. Showroom staff can tell you how each tile is packed. 

Trim pieces like tile bullnose, tile quarter round and decorative moldings are sold by the individual piece in most cases.

Decorative tile is often sold by the piece and typically there is no minimum order for decorative tiles. Usually, you can purchase as few, or as many, tiles as you need. 

Mosaics for shower floors and decorative accents are generally sold by the individual sheet. A sheet is typically 12" x 12",  but this does vary. There are some exceptions; a few manufacturers require purchase of full boxes of mosaics. In this scenario, there are about 5 sheets or 5 square feet per box. 

Often, we can offer discounts on larger orders. Sometimes manufacturers and suppliers will also make discounts available on multiple pallets of tile.

We can arrange delivery of tile to your home or business. Sometimes the tile contractor will pick up the tile on your behalf. When that isn't convenient, local delivery can be coordinated with you and the delivery service.

• Easy to clean 

• Doesn’t require toxic or harmful cleaners 

No, porcelain slabs do not stain. They do not need to be sealed. They are also not affected by heat and the high temperatures of pans and cooking implements. 

Porcelain slabs are much harder and more dense than natural stone slabs; therefore porcelain slabs are extremely strong and durable. 

Water and other liquids will sit on top of porcelain slabs and not soak in. Porcelain slabs are not absorbent. 

Porcelain slabs are significantly less expensive than granite and other types of natural stone slabs. 

As an example, a 64” x 128” Calacatta Gold polished porcelain slab for counter tops is $1650.00 for the entire slab. Most porcelain slabs are in this cost range. This does not include the fabrication cost.

Paint will not effectively adhere to porcelain tile. Porcelain tile is designed to be stain resistant and has very low, almost non existent, absorption. Painting porcelain tile flooring will result in peeling and wearing in traffic patterns. It is not advisable to paint porcelain tile. 

Glazed porcelain tile, typical of residential flooring, does not need to be sealed and should not be sealed.  Unglazed porcelain tile, used primarily in commercial and institutional settings, can be sealed and often is sealed. Some shower floor mosaics are unglazed porcelain; these mosaics can be sealed during installation.  Ask your supplier which type of porcelain tile you are considering in order to determine if your porcelain tile should be sealed. 

The decision between porcelain and marble is a “lifestyle choice”. 

Marble and other types of natural stone flooring are beautiful and prestigious; however they require periodic sealers and care with cleaning products. Natural stone & marble must be cleaned with plain water and pH neutral cleaners. Acids like vinegar, citrus and wine can etch the surface of natural stone. Natural stone is pervious; meaning it can be stained by oils, juice, foods, dyes and other colored materials and products. Natural stone is not as hard and dense as porcelain tile.  

Porcelain tile is not sensitive to acids and is easier to care for: 

• Easier to maintain 

• Doesn’t require sealers 

• Stain resistant 

• Less expensive to purchase 

• Less expensive to install 

• Highly durable
